Product Details

Botanical Name: Helichrysum italicum

Plant Part: Flowers

Extraction Method: Steam Distilled

Description: The Helichrysum Italicum plant grows wild in Mediterranean regions at high altitudes with a lot of sun exposure. Helichrysum is also known as Immortelle or Everlasting because the flowering tops retain their yellow color even after they dry out, and are often used in dried flower arrangements.

Color: Pale yellow to reddish-yellow liquid.

Common Uses: Helichrysum is one of the essential oils favoured in fine creams that are formulated for mature complexions. At the end of a stressful day, 8 drops may be mixed with a little liquid soap and added to the bath for a relaxing soak.  Because this is diluted in Jojoba Oil, it can be used as a simple or blended with other oils to make a purely natural perfume.

Consistency: Thin

Note: Base

Strength of Aroma: Medium

Blends well with: Chamomile, Lavender, Clary Sage, Rose, Clove Bud and any of the oils from the citrus family.

Aromatic Scent: Helichrysum Slovenia Essential Oil has a powerful scent that can be described as a rich and honey-sweet that is both woody and fresh.

History: Helichrysum has silvery gray, grassy foliage with a collection of golden flowers that blossom in midsummer, and whose colour last long after they have been picked and dried. Its name is derived from the Greek word helios meaning 'sun' and chrysos meaning 'gold'. This is a reference to the golden color of many of the flowers from this botanical genus. Helichrysum has been used since the time of the ancient who often used it after battles.

Cautions: Helichrysum Essential Oil is non-toxic, non-irritating and non-sensitizing. Avoid use during pregnancy.
