Product Details

Our Coconut Butter is an elegant blend of Organic, 100% Extra Virgin Coconut Oil and non-GMO Soy Butter. Exuding a natural and pleasant coconut aroma, it has a soft texture with a rich viscosity that melts quickly on contact with the skin. Retaining the unique conditioning and penetrative benefits of Coconut Oil, this decadent butter acts as a gentle yet highly protective emollient for rejuvenating the appearance of dry or damaged skin. It also helps nourish the scalp and hair strands to leave it soft, silky, and deeply moisturized.

Aromatic Description: Mild to medium Coconut scent.

Common Uses: Coconut Butter is a versatile cosmetic ingredient that can be incorporated into many luxurious and restorative products. It is popular in body care, hair care, hand care, lip care, sun care, and bath products, including hair conditioners, shaving balms, soaps, and sun butters.

Recommended Usage:
Skin & Body Care: 5 - 20 %
Balms: 100 %
Bar Soaps: 5 - 20 %
Massage Products: 1 - 100 %
Hair Care: 2 - 10 %

When adding Coconut Butter to creams and lotions, it might be necessary to gently warm it until its texture is soft enough to be incorporated into the final product. Using a hand blender, create a vortex with your cream or lotion and drizzle in the melted butter until fully incorporated and consistently smooth. For addition to soaps, the general rule of thumb is one tablespoon per pound of soap. As with most raw materials, results may vary, so we strongly recommend small, lab-scale batches prior to any commercial manufacturing.

Note: Before adding raw butters to creams, lotions and balms, it is recommended to temper them. Gently and slowly heat the butter until liquid, and then let it cool completely. The melting point can range from 32°C to 35°C. This will improve the texture of the final product by reducing the potential for graininess.

Recommended Storage: Please note that this butter should ideally be stored in a refrigerator to maintain its texture. It will become soft in warmer temperatures.

Shelf Life: Store this product in cool temperatures (below 25°C / 77°F) in an air-tight container away from light and moisture. This product will liquefy when stored in temperatures above 36°C (96.8°F) but will re-solidify upon cooling without its functionality being affected. When stored properly, this butter has a shelf life of 18 months.
