Benzoin Resinoid Essential Oil, also known as Gum Benjamin, is derived from the resin of the Styrax benzoin tree, which can grow up to 8 meters (20 feet) in height. Originating in India, the process of extracting Benzoin Resinoid begins with making deep incisions in the tree trunk, allowing the grayish sap to exude and harden into a resinous lump. Once the resin becomes hard and brittle, it is meticulously collected from the bark, cleaned, and processed through solvent extraction to yield a thick, rich oil.
Renowned for its traditional use in incense and perfumery, Benzoin Resinoid Essential Oil offers a warm, balsamic fragrance that enhances a variety of aromatic applications. For optimal use, we recommend placing the bottle in a hot water bath, changing the water frequently until the oil returns to a liquid state.
