The Lavender plant is a woody evergreen shrub, reaching up to 1 meter in height. It features pale green, narrow linear leaves and violet-blue flowers. Lavender has been used since ancient times, the Romans added it to their bath water, hence the name from the Latin lavare, "to wash".
