The native flora of Egypt consists of a high number of medicinal species including Balsam, Wild Rue, and Bitter Apple. Vegetation such as Tamarisk, Acacia, thorny shrubs, small succulents, and aromatic herbs grow in the Eastern desert despite its scarce rainfall. Its major exports include cotton, citrus, aromatics, and spices.
