Rich in herbal flora, Nepal's Himalayan Region has been recognized globally as one of the world's top zones for biodiversity. The medicinal plants found in this zone are used in traditional holistic medicinal systems such as Ayurvedic, Homoeopathic, and Amchi. Around 1,500 plant species in Nepal have been discovered to be medicinal and more than 200 herbs have also exhibited medicinal value. The country's endemic plants include a species of Wild Onion, Nepalese Autumn Poppy, Himalayan poppy, and Himalayan Woodland Poppy. Nepal's herb and essential oil exports include Wintergreen, Spikenard, Common Juniper, Ginger, Chamomile German, and Rhododendron.
